Předměty vyučované v českém jazyce:
Cílem předmětu je procvičení a prohloubení znalostí české gramatiky, získaných v průběhu předchozího studia.
Studiem získáte orientaci v hláskovém systému češtiny, budete umět aplikovat teoretickou znalost tvarosloví při komunikaci a dokážete správně tvořit věty v souladu s pravidly českého slovosledu.
Česká konverzace a tvorba textu
Předmět směřuje k procvičení a prohloubení znalostí českého jazyka, získaných v průběhu předchozího studia, zejména znalostí ortofonické a ortoepické normy češtiny, gramatiky češtiny, větné stavby a stylizace textů v češtině.
Student se po absolvování předmětu orientuje v mluvnickém systému češtiny tak, že umí aplikovat teoretické a praktické znalosti mluvnice při mluvené i psané komunikaci.
Cílem předmětu je prohloubení znalostí českého jazyka, jeho vývoje a mluvených podob nářečních nebo jinak specifických, vývoje a současného aktuálního stavu české literatury a kultury, znalostí české historie, geografie, rozšíření informací o české přírodě, české ekonomice a politice.
Studiem získáte orientaci v základních poznatcích o české dialektologii, přehled o dějinách, geografii, ekonomice a politickém systému České republiky, vývoji i aktuálním stavu české literatury a kultury.
Předměty vyučované v anglickém jazyce:
The aim of the course is to deepen the knowledge of the Czech culture, traditions, gastronomy and current affairs. Crucial aspects of social and political development and some historical issues will be involved as well. Interesting destinations for trips in the Czech Republic will be recommended.
Most important and frequent Czech expressions and phrases will be mentioned.
Structural Poetics of the Prague School
This course introduces students to the main problems, theories and methods of the structural poetics of the Prague School. At the end of the course the students will: be able to understand the historical, theoretical and methodological development of Czech literary structuralism; get better appreciation of key sources and formative relations of Czech literary structuralism; get better appreciation of the main changes undergone by the structural poetics of the Prague School in exile – in the context of the development of Western literary theory and criticism, and more specifically, the history of structuralism and post-structuralism; have an overview of the main theoretical approaches by Jan Mukařovský and Felix Vodička; critically assess the theoretical proposals of Mojmír Grygar, Květoslav Chvatík, and Lubomír Doležel.
An Introduction to Narratology
The aim of the course is to introduce essential narratological concepts to the students in English, familiarize them with basic theories and methods in the study of narrative. The course objective is to outline in this context: 1) short history of narrative theory and narratology in the context of study of literature in the 20th century, 2) the main concepts of narrative theory (e.g. story, narrative, narration etc.), 3) basic theories and methods using in the study of narrative, 4) the structure of narrative, 5) the main components of narrative, 6) the surface of narrative, 7) text, narrative and fictional world. Students will learn about basic secondary literature which will enable them to complete and extend preceding lectures.
